Who’s Involved
The Tackling Poverty in Hamilton initiative is built on bringing people from many different walks of life together to address Hamilton’s most pressing problem.
Hamilton has committed to a collaborative approach because no one sector has the solutions; no one group can tackle poverty alone.
Hamilton has also linked with the national Vibrant Communities initiative (includes Toronto, Niagara Region, Waterloo Region, Halifax, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Victoria and Winnipeg) to tap into a wealth of expertise and experience.
Funding to support the planning phase has been provided by Hamilton Community Foundation and the City of Hamilton, along with three donations from private sector members of the roundtable: Dofasco, Pictorvision and Turkstra Lumber. In kind resources have also been donated by the Social Planning and Research Council, Wesley Urban Ministries, City of Hamilton and Hamilton Community Foundation.
